- Provide classroom guidance lessons, addressing issues such as bullying, anxiety, self-esteem, study habits, goal setting, emotional intelligence, kindness, and family changes that are in accordance with state-mandated requirements, aligned to state standards, and follow district policies and norms.
- Provide individual and group counseling for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Help students develop social skills, conflict resolution strategies, and self-regulation techniques.
- Mediate conflicts between students and teach problem-solving techniques
- Work with teachers to identify students needing additional academic and/or emotional support.
- Respond to immediate student crises, such as trauma, grief, or abuse.
- Provide resources and referrals to families for additional mental health support.
- Communicate with parents regarding their child's emotional and behavioral needs.
- Organize school-wide initiatives promoting kindness, respect, and responsibility.
- Observe and assess students' social-emotional and behavioral progress.
- Manage the 504 process, and oversee compliance
- Participate cooperatively with the faculty, staff and principal in various tasks that promote the corporation's goals, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.
- Participate in junior high MTSS meetings
- All other duties assigned by principal and or superintendent
