Catapult Learning is seeking a full-time elementary school counselor for the 2021-2022 school year. The schools are located in Pottsville, Tamaqua, and Minersville, PA. Responsibilities may include individual and group counseling, guidance lessons, academic counseling, school-wide counseling initiatives, consultations, crisis management, parental involvement, and collaboration with community resources to best meet the needs of the students, families, and school community.
Catapult Learning provides staff with regularly scheduled supervision and continued support throughout the school year.
Responsibilities may include (but not limited to):
Classroom guidance with some individual counseling with students, with signed parental consent. Counseling may focus on academic, emotional, behavioral, or developmental issues to promote enhanced school functioning.
Consult with parents, classroom teachers, school principal and other school personnel to maximize effectiveness of services, as appropriate.
Serve as a resource consultant to parents and school personnel in locating services within the community to help meet the needs of individual students or families.
Participate in supervision on regular basis with the Program Supervisor.
Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Keep abreast of current changes and trends in the field.
Candidates for this position must be able and willing to conduct their work both in person as well as virtually, based on the requirements of their state, program, or client, with reasonable accommodation.
Active PA School Counseling Certification preferred OR background in a related field such as psychology or counseling
Experience working with children in a school setting
Must have or be willing to obtain all active PA state mandated clearances (Child abuse, FBI fingerprints, criminal background check, etc.)
Must be proficient with virtual platforms, i.e. Zoom
Non-public school setting
Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs
If virtual, professional/private home space is required
As a condition of employment, staff will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to weekly testing. All staff are required to wear an approved mask, if and when reporting to a physical work site where they are interacting with others.
