DESCRIPTION High School Counselor/Guidance Department Chairperson

The roles and responsibilities of a High School Counselor/ Department Chairperson typically encompass a broad range of school counseling duties including:

• Supporting student academic, social, emotional, and career development

• Serving as a liaison to school administration and participation as a member of the school-based leadership team

• Providing supervision, leadership, and support to department members in the following areas: Guidance Counseling, College and Career Counseling, Crisis Intervention, Advocacy and Support, Test Coordination, Data Analysis and Reporting, Professional Development, and Community Engagement

START DATE August 20 - August 23, 2024

New Teacher Orientation/Professional Development

First Day of Classes: August 27, 2024

QUALIFICATIONS

• CT Certification (068) School Counselor

• Demonstrated experience in school counseling and leadership skills
