We are seeking a School Counselor to lead our efforts in supporting students' holistic well-being, with a focus on their social and emotional needs throughout their academic journey. The School Counselor will oversee a comprehensive program that integrates mental health resources, emotional support systems, and community-building initiatives to ensure students thrive academically and emotionally. The Counselor will also aid in our College Counselling course, providing guidance and emotional support to students as they navigate the college application process.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
Proven leadership experience? n implementing social and emotional wellness initiatives in an educational setting
Deep understanding of best practices?in mental health support, counseling, and student well-being
Excellent communication and interpersonal?skills, with the ability to collaborate?effectively with diverse stakeholders
Prior experience in developing?and managing programs focused?on social and emotional wellness
Strong organizational and analytical?skills to assess the effectiveness?of interventions and initiatives
Knowledge of college admissions?processes, financial aid, and?scholarship opportunities a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal?skills, with an emphasis on empathy?and understanding
Ability to support the social?and emotional wellness of students?during a stressful period
Proficiency in data management?and record-keeping
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic?plan for promoting social and?emotional wellness across the?student body
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to create?a supportive and inclusive environment?for students
Provide leadership and supervision?to a team of counselors and mental?health professionals
Oversee the delivery of counseling?services, workshops, and support?groups to address students' social?and emotional needs
Implement data-driven approaches?to assess the impact of social?and emotional wellness programs?on student outcomes
Advocate for the prioritization?of student mental health and well-being within the school community
Stay informed about current research?and trends in social and emotional?wellness to inform program development
Maintain confidential and accurate?records of student interactions?and progress towards emotional?well-being goals.
Provide guidance on college application?procedures, deadlines, and requirements?while considering the stress and?anxiety that students may experience
Help students develop strong?college application essays and?personal statements that reflect?their emotional growth and resilience
