School Counselor

Requirements:

• Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) OR Associates MFT License

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Associate Clinical Social Worker

• Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS)

• Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum preferred

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students with autism, focusing on social skills development, emotional regulation, and self-advocacy.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs.

• Support students in navigating social interactions and building meaningful relationships with peers.

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor students' progress and adjust interventions as needed.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop comprehensive intervention strategies.

• Provide crisis intervention and support as needed to students and families.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and evidence-based interventions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
