2024-25 Salary Range: $46,813-$68,815 or Appropriate placement on salary schedule. Benefits available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Bozeman Public Schools seeks a highly skilled school based mental health professional to join our team in the Willson Day School. This K-12 therapeutic day school setting supports students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, often resulting from complex trauma, relational/attachment needs, and/or neurodiversity.
The ideal candidate will see hope and opportunity where others see challenges, and design and implement services accordingly. Experience with trauma responsive behavioral approaches and deescalation techniques required. Must be comfortable engaging in small class, small group, and individual counseling.
Staff meet regularly to problem solve student and family needs, and to support each other in recognizing how staff beliefs and behaviors shape our interactions with students. The majority of this position will focus on direct student and family support, along with some indirect Medicaid billing for IEP driven school based services.
While the district recognizes the different roles that could be filled by professionals with different training/licensure, we are seeking the best possible fit for this unique program, prioritizing individual skillsets over specific titles. As such, the successful candidate may be asked to step outside of their comfort zone, while still adhearing to their legal and professional scope of practice.
Qualifications:
Montana licensure as a school psychologist or school counselor or ability to be certified by the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
Montana licensure as an LCSW or LCPC, or ability to obtain licensure by the start of the 2024-25 school year.
