K-12 School Counselor - .5 FTE

Description:
This position is a K-12 counselor in a small rural school. We operate on a four day week.
We have approximately 230 students. The counselor is responsible for a number of diverse tasks: providing guidance and support to students and families, serving as a liaison between student families and instructional teams, developing the master schedule, attending to the social/emotional needs of the students, enhancing the positive school culture, collaborating closely with the administration and support services, and instructing lessons addressing the counseling standards.
Qualifications:
The selected candidate must have a counseling certification.
The position requires strong skills in interpersonal communication, organization, and collaboration. The person will work collaboratively with the four on-site CSCT staff members. Most importantly, the candidate must have a passion for working with young adolescents and a belief that all students have the ability to succeed.
Working Conditions:
The counselor works closely with all staff to attend to the academic, social/emotional and developmental needs of the population of KU-12th graders. This position is 1/2 time with hours negotiable.
He/she collaborates closely with teams of teachers, parents and administrators to support the students. The work schedule is based on the collective bargaining agreement of certified staff plus five additional days to support the opening and closing of the school.
