Position Title: School Counselor (part-time; may be combined with teaching duties to become full-time).
Reports to: Great Falls Central Catholic High School Superintendent/Principal

GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:
The Great Falls Central Catholic High School Counselor offers appropriate and effective social, emotional, academic, and personal support to our students while working with all stakeholders including administrators, faculty, parents, and community partners. The GFCCHS Counselor in collaboration with school leadership and building administrator, endorses a positive and safe learning environment through creating a culture of acceptance for students of all abilities, while promoting the importance of personal growth and development.
The GFCCHS Counselor needs to exhibit excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills when working with colleagues, families, and students across diverse backgrounds. The GFCCHS Counselor must have a thorough understanding of assessments and aptitude tests and ability to properly interpret the results.
Major Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Designs appropriate support services for students using an individualized Student Support Plan (SSP) to aid in the success of the student, while working closely with LEA personnel.
Creates schoolwide class schedule.
Creates individual student class schedules.
Provide the necessary support to students and families, beginning freshman year, for post-high school planning and college exploration.
Assists students with academic planning, accountability, and/or organization.
Counsels students with personal, social, disciplinary, and behavioral issues.
Collaborates with teachers to identify ways to improve the achievement and social development of students, along with ensuring implementation of the SSP if applicable.
Coordinates student surveys and testing (i.e., ACT, ASVAB, etc.).
