The Hays/Lodge Pole School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of K-12 School Academic Counselor beginning the 2024-2025 school year.
Hays/Lodge Pole School District Welcomes New Teachers! Our students welcome you as we welcome change! We are determined to build on our momentum and continue progress towards meeting our academic goals this year. Recent improvements here include updated athletic training room and equipment, indoor archery, new greenhouse, mobile Chromebook labs available for classroom use, and new SmartBoards in classrooms.
Hays/Lodge Pole School District is located on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation (in the foothills of the beautiful Little Rocky Mountains) and is home to the Aaniiih and Nakoda tribes. It consists of a K-6 school in Lodge Pole, MT, and the 7-12 Junior High and High School in Hays, MT. The people of Fort Belknap enjoy rodeo and powwows, fishing, hunting, and other outdoor pursuits. The Fort Belknap Reservation brought back the Tatanka, the original full blooded buffalo or bison of North America; the herd resides approximately 25 miles from the school. The southwestern edge of the reservation is connected to the Missouri River Breaks. We live near mountains, rivers, lakes, and the beautiful Snake Butte--a butte used to quarry rock, to build the Fort Peck Dam.
In addition to connecting with the deep culture and opportunities within Fort Belknap, those who teach at our school earn a competitive benefits package:
For the 2024-25 school year, the starting rate is $44,247.
There are salary increases for those with experience and additional education and certifications.
Additional coaching and tutoring opportunities available
Benefits include:
Shared contribution to Blue Cross Blue Shield Premium Health Coverage.
10 days sick leave, 6 days personal leave, with compensation for unused leave.
Discounted local housing rates.
Small class sizes. Average class sizes are 6-20.
Our Title I school meets requirements for federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness: $17,500 for Special Education and secondary Science or Mathematics, and $5,000 for other certification areas.
Inclusion in seasonal ceremonies for employees and their families throughout the year.
Our mission is “to instill strength and knowledge to walk anywhere on Earth and fear nothing.” To get to know us better, check out our “Hays/Lodge Pole Schools” Website. Come join our team!
