Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and five years' increasingly responsible experience in the operation of a school bus with a safe driving record. LICENSE/CERTIFICATE Possession of a valid Class A, B or C California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

A Valid Class A or B Motor Vehicle Operator's license with passenger transportation, "S", and air brake endorsements, a California Special Driver Certificate valid for school bus driving and a current DL-51 Medical Card. Must have a current CA DMV K4 (DMV H6) printout to be submitted with the job application. For more information, please view the Job Description EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a promotional and open competitive recruitment.

The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test or performance test and a structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each test part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part.

If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future permanent and substitute vacancies.
