School Based Therapists at OhioGuidestone have the unique opportunity to work with clients both in the school and in the home. The ideal School Based Therapist will have a genuine passion to work with diverse clientele from grades K-12. Empower clients by establishing quick rapport with them as well as teachers, principals, and parents, too! As an OhioGuidestone Therapist, you work independently with assigned clients throughout your school and in the surrounding communities. Provide individual and family counseling as well as interventions as needed in order to assist clients with meeting and maintaining their goals! Essential Functions:

  • Develops a therapeutic relationship with each client.

  • Provides individual, group or family therapy as needed.

  • Available for clinical consultation.

  • Maintains a minimum productivity level of 52% billable face-to-face contacts per week.

  • Maintains ongoing frequent contact with other assigned OhioGuidestone professionals, parents or outside agency professionals assigned to case.

  • Provide CPST and minor case management functions if needed.

  • Assumes a strong advocacy role for clients and makes recommendations for clinical and support services needed upon discharge.

  • Actively participates in all treatment conferences and meetings for the clients.

  • Completes all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames

  • Assumes a leadership role in the interpretation and support of agency policies.

  • Participates in agency and community meetings as needed.

  • Attends conferences and workshops to maintain professional competence.

  • Provides in-service training as requested.

  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

  • May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.

  • In times of need, the Therapist may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor

If Therapist is also responsible for School Services, the following functions are essential, in addition to above:

  • Coordinates and provides service and support to assigned clients and families or care givers in the school environment.

  • Provide school personnel and parents with information on child's mental health diagnosis, behavior management, household management, communication and relationship enhancement.

  • Provide group services, leads treatment and psycho-educational groups.

  • Consults with school personnel and participate in school meetings as necessary

Performance/Physical Requirements:

  • Work environment can include an agency office, school based setting, or in the community including clients homes

  • English reading and writing skills required

  • Works flexible hours and is available for crisis management by phone

  • Computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic database usage, as well as basic typing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree* in social work with an Ohio LSW required

  • Master's degree with Ohio LPC, MFT, LISW or LPCC or IMFT is preferred

  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and proof of auto insurance *Funding sources may require OhioGuidestone to hire an advanced degree

Part time Recovery Coaches provide sobriety support services and inspire hope of recovery from addiction or co-occurring disorders. Upon assignment, meet with client each week, and based upon need of client; step down as appropriate with supervisor input. Educate the client on the addiction model and paths to recovery. Help expand client's sober support network. Connect the client to needed community resources in support of their recovery. Essential Functions: * Provide sobriety support services and inspire hope of recovery from addiction or co-occurring disorders * Upon assignment, meet with client each week, and based upon need of client; step down as appropriate with supervisor input * Educate the client on the addiction model and paths to recovery * Help expand client's sober support network * Connect the client to needed community resources in support of their recovery * Address barriers to recovery * Provide support to maintain recovery and reduce relapse * Attend meetings, child visitation, and court hearings with client as requested by the payor * Develop a Recovery Support Plan with each recoveree * Timely and accurate documentation for all clients * Adhere to Ohio Certified Peer Supporter Code of Ethics * Attend supervision and training as assigned * Behave in such a manner that models success Performance/Physical Requirements * Work is performed in the homes of clients and in the community * English reading and writing skills required * Interacts verbally with coworkers, representatives from outside agencies, and families * Attention to detail and confidentiality required * Works flexible hours * Team player * Basic computer skills are required. Qualifications: * GED or High School Diploma required * Must hold and provide the certificate of completion of the Peer Support Class time and Peer Support Training * Must be working towards and/or show completion of taking and passing the state test at 70% and continue ongoing certification training. * Work and/or Volunteer experience as a Recovery Coach and knowledge of court and county resources is preferred. * Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, proof of auto insurance, and safe driving record.
