Day shift, seasonal based upon school calendar
This position will be primarily at an area school system.
Provide health services, information, and counseling in an effective and positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community
Provide health education that promotes physical and mental health and informs healthcare decisions
Provide for the direct care needs of the student, including medication administration and routine treatments and procedures
Provide medication administration and routine treatment training to support staff
Provide counsel and management strategies for infectious diseases
Act as liaison to BCHD
Perform contact tracing as needed for infectious diseases
Coordinate referrals for students and staff into appropriate health care resources
Collaborate with other school professionals, parents and caregivers to meet the health, developmental, and educational needs of students and staff
Make the initial evaluation visit and regularly re-evaluates and assists the patient and caregiver in meeting related nursing needs. Initiate the plan of care and care plan, makes necessary revisions, furnishing those services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill. Initiate appropriate preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Initiate appropriate chart documentation and able to prepare clinical and progress notes. Submit a written clinical report following each visit including observation of patient's condition and a progress report. This report will be incorporated into the patient's clinical record. Participate with other health personnel of the agency in planning for the implementation of the Plan of Treatment and discussions for the purpose of planning and evaluating patient care in individual cases. The RN will act in a consult and/or supervisory capacity to the agency staff. May participate in medication management, special needs services and/or foot clinics. Give skilled care to patients requiring professional nursing services.
