Duties Include:

The Scholarly Communication and Research Librarian is responsible for assisting in managing the university's institutional repository and ensuring the proper handling and dissemination of scholarly works, datasets, and special collections. Collaborates with university and campus stakeholders to develop and enhance digital collections, advising on best practices for data management and copyright compliance, and promoting and advocating for open access publishing. Provides expertise in the administration of research information systems and supports researchers in creating data management plans, organizing and preserving data, and improving metadata for discoverability. Assists with copyright issues, analyzes scholarly metrics, and supports faculty in managing their research profiles. Develops outreach programs and engages with the academic community. Contributes to research assistance, collection development, and liaison services to support the university's academic mission.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• ALA-accredited master's degree in library or information science.

• Competencies with management tools (Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Access); strong statistical, analytical and evaluation skills.

• Demonstrated knowledge of scholarly communication practices including copyright, open access publishing, data management, and repository management.

• Experience with outreach and engagement to promote scholarly communication initiatives.

• Strong service orientation and ability to work well with a diverse range of students, faculty, and staff.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Academic Library experience:

• Experience or knowledge of reference and research assistance.

• Experience or knowledge of collection development and liaison services.

• Experience or knowledge of conducting faculty workshops.

• Proven success with project management.

• Experience with library technologies, i.e., Integrated Library Systems, discovery platforms, research information systems, and institutionary repository software.

• Experience with Scholarly Metric Tools to track and analyze research impact and engagement.
