OverviewThe Scheduling Specialist is responsible for managing patient referrals and visit schedules. Assigns patient assessments and other visits as ordered by the physician using online scheduling system. Collaborates with the Team Leader to identify clinicians with the appropriate experience and skill set to match patient needs.   • Post high school education preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum one year of scheduling experience in health care setting using an online scheduling system.

Skill Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational, customer service, communication, and decision making skills required.

  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations governing OASIS visits, supervisiory, and reassessment visits

Your responsibilities: * Provide and direct physical therapy services to patients by assisting in the assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation * Work in accordance with physicians' orders and adhere to applicable principles and practices of physical therapy, Brookdale policies/procedures, and state regulations * Under the direction of a licensed physical therapist, assist in the screenings of patients, deliver treatment and appropriately document progress * Assist with selecting Physical Therapy techniques and sequence of activities, and adapting such techniques as indicated by patient performance * Help develop appropriate home or community programming to support the patient's continued recovery in his or her own environment Required skills and qualifications: * Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program * Completion of the state exam * Physical therapy assistant license in the state of practice * One year physical therapy experience * Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays * prior Home Health exp is desired but not required * experience post degree is preferred If you're a Brookdale associate, please consider referring someone through the Good People Program!
