Scheduling Coordinator

Responsibilities

The Scheduling Coordinator assists in coordinating the OR scheduling needs of the surgeons, as deemed appropriate and necessary. They will interact with the office staff, operating room personnel and patients to aid patients in the OR scheduling process. The Scheduling Coordinator also assists with a variety of administrative and patient related duties, to ensure quality care to the child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient.

Essential Functions:

• Must be polite and courteous while interviewing patients and address patients in a proper manner.

• Maintains working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes as it applies to the surgical scheduling process.

• Coordinates scheduling of appointments and OR cases.

• Works closely with the Operating Room staff to ensure surgical testing and other requirements are met.

• Update ADP financials.

• Assures accurate and timely data collection.

• Responsible for other miscellaneous duties which may include, but are not limited to: stocking exam rooms, cleaning exam rooms, emptying trash cans, checking to see if the supply closets are clean and in order, putting supplies away, collecting laundry and ensuring that all work areas are in order before leaving.

• Assist with answering phones, filing and other general office processes as indicated.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:High School Diploma/GED And Over 3 years to 5 years Office experience, including 1 year in a healthcare organization. required
