Reservation Representative This position is responsible for performing duties required to schedule and pre-register patients for procedures and surgical cases/services; prints schedules for departments as needed; gathers and reports statistical data as requested.
Essential Job Duties: Displays excellent customer service skills while interacting with customers via phone, e-mail, correspondence or in person. Demonstrates a good understanding of Insurance processing requirements i.e.; (verification, authorization, terms, requirements and regulations). Demonstrates the ability to correctly pre-register scheduled patient.
Ensures pre-registration is completed in a timely manner. Call ?NO Shows? as needed to ensure they have been rescheduled in a timely manner. Able to read and interpret physician orders in accordance with requirements established for clean claim processing. i.e.; V-codes, Inpatient only procedures, non-coverered, etc.
Familiar with all clinical requirements needed to successfully schedule a patient in the Cerner scheduling system. Capable of using manuals to locate appropriate CPT codes. Has an advanced understanding of medical terminology.
Able to read and interpret an HDX response. Familiar with all current computer applications used in the Customer Access department such as but not limited to the following: Cerner Scheduling, SMS, HDX, Search America, Document Imaging, Internet, Medical Necessity screening.
Demonstrates a good understanding of the Scheduler 1 process. Maintains Scan Surgery and Pal Peds Scan Logs as well as fax machine and ensures correspondence received has been completed in a timely manner. Displays a willingness to cross-train and float to other areas as required.
Performs all other duties as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a customer service setting, preferably medical related.
