Aiken Regional Medical Centers Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities.

Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. Services provided at the hospital include emergency medical care, orthopedic surgeries, maternity, and behavioral health services. Reservation Representative This position is responsible for performing duties required to schedule and pre-register patients for procedures and surgical cases/services; prints schedules for departments as needed; gathers and reports statistical data as requested.

Essential Job Duties: Displays excellent customer service skills while interacting with customers via phone, e-mail, correspondence or in person. Demonstrates a good understanding of Insurance processing requirements i.e.; (verification, authorization, terms, requirements and regulations). Demonstrates the ability to correctly pre-register scheduled patient.

Ensures pre-registration is completed in a timely manner. Call ?NO Shows? as needed to ensure they have been rescheduled in a timely manner. Able to read and interpret physician orders in accordance with requirements established for clean claim processing. i.e.; V-codes, Inpatient only procedures, non-coverered, etc.

Familiar with all clinical requirements needed to successfully schedule a patient in the Cerner scheduling system. Capable of using manuals to locate appropriate CPT codes. Has an advanced understanding of medical terminology.

Able to read and interpret an HDX response. Familiar with all current computer applications used in the Customer Access department such as but not limited to the following: Cerner Scheduling, SMS, HDX, Search America, Document Imaging, Internet, Medical Necessity screening.

Demonstrates a good understanding of the Scheduler 1 process. Maintains Scan Surgery and Pal Peds Scan Logs as well as fax machine and ensures correspondence received has been completed in a timely manner. Displays a willingness to cross-train and float to other areas as required.

Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Previous experience in a customer service setting, preferably medical related. Assessment Coordinator Responsible for conducting mental health assessments, communicating with psychiatrists in determining level of care needed, facilitating admissions and referrals to and from other agencies, conducting pre-certifications and utilization reviews, and fostering positive relationships with all referral sources. Essential Job Duties: * Addresses needs of callers seeking assistance. * Conducts mental health assessments. * Facilitates referrals to and from other treatment providers as appropriate. * Communicates with referral sources to ensure satisfaction and coordination of care. * Performs pre-certifications in a timely manner. * Performs utilization reviews in a timely manner. * Communicates with physicians and hospital staff regarding utilization review issues. * Educates staff on the correct procedure for answering Respond calls. * Keeps units and Emergency Room stocked with forms necessary to complete tasks. * Maintains updated and detailed Tracking Log. * Prepares monthly statistical report on assessments. * Communicates feedback from referral sources to Management Team. * Inputs assessment data into the appropriate computer programs upon completion of each assessment. * During periods of critical staffing, will assist clinical staff in patient rounds, help ensure pt safety and comfort, and assist with non-clinical patient care duties under the supervision of a Mental Health Technician, LPN or RN. Qualifications Education requirements: Registered Nurse or minimum of a master's level in a human services field. Working toward full licensure preferred. Work experience requirements: Minimum one year experience in mental health setting.
