Overall Scheduler/Recruiter Responsibilities:

The Scheduler/Recruiter will be responsible for ensuring that the nursing department has adequate staff at all times on all shifts.

Job Duties:

  • The scheduler will be responsible for staffing the nursing department.

  • The Scheduler expected shift will be from 7am - 3pm and will be expected to assist on a unit if/ when the need arises.

  • Fulfilling staff vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.

  • Maintaining a meticulous attendance record of all call-ins and tardies. Addressing attendance issues within Hooverwood guidelines.

  • Checking timeclock punches in a timely manner and making the appropriate adjustments.

  • Effectively communicating with the Director of Nursing, Staff Development Nurse, Human Resources, and Administrator regarding all new hires' scheduled orientation dates.

  • Making sure that the nursing staff understands the PRN Policy and adheres to PRN Policy .

  • Keeping track of all nursing licenses.

  • Making sure that any pick-up/ shift bonuses are tracked daily and reported to the Director of Nursing by the second Tuesday of the pay period.

  • The recruiting role will include pulling applications/ resumes, responding to Indeed messages, and scheduling interviews. The scheduler/recruiter will be responsible for the hire of Certified Nursing Assistant. And the Staff Development Nurse will be responsible for the hire of Qualified Medication Aide, License Practical Nurses, and Register Nurses.

  • Run background checks on all new hires/re-hires.

  • Verify licenses.

  • Prepare New Hire paperwork.

  • Any other tasks assigned by Nursing Administration/Administration.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma

  • Must provide proof of current/active Certified Nursing Assistant /and or Qualified Medication Aide certification from the state of Indiana.

  • Must have previous experience as a scheduler.

  • Must have previous experience work in a long-term healthcare facility.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excel experience preferred.
