Position Summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Scheduler for the San Antonio-Northeast Clinic.

1.Provides excellent customer service in a team environment.
2.Provides coverage for check in desks at 2 sites.
3.Provides coverage for check out desks at 2 sites.
4.Provides coverage for Treatment check out desks at 2 sites.
5.Provides coverage for the CT/PET scheduler which includes getting authorizations for tests.
6.Provides coverage for answering and transferring phones to the appropriate staff.
7.All these positions include tasks such as return and treatment scheduling, collection of payments, checking patients in and out of the computer system, checking current insurance cards, entering and retrieving orders, printing patient summaries and processing, authorizing with insurance and sending outside test orders to appropriate sites.
8.The phone system is on a computer but at times calls are directed to the operator and must be answered and transferred to the correct staff or physicians.


High School graduate or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Experience in medical office patient facing duties.

  • Experience in healthcare insurance verification and obtaining authorizations and referrals

  • Knowledge of medical coding to include CPT & ICD-10


Under minimal supervision, is responsible for all of the above tasks using customer service skills. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

VIEW JOBS 10/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-27T00:00 Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Nominates schedules, confirms, and monitors flow and imbalances from receipt points to delivery points on Energy Transfer's Intrastate pipelines ensuring receipt and delivery points are within contract requirements. * Tracks volume requirements (contractual obligations) and flow versus nominations (e.g. Operating Balance Agreements – OBA's) with pipelines and makes decisions relative to the OBA balances. * Works with shippers, pipelines, and commercial team to resolve imbalances. * Makes decisions on various options for gas flow (e.g. to different pipelines), coordinating with affiliate pipelines and gas control. * Verifies volumes directly with operations and/or through monitoring SCADA. * Communicates with operations to ensure flow rates are consistent with pipeline capabilities. * Confirms volume information to pipelines and works closely with accounting. * Knowledge of system, pipeline grid and process of scheduling and nominating gas. Required education or minimum level: * Bachelor's degree in related field or experience in lieu of degree. Experience: * 2+ years' directly related experience in either natural gas scheduling or other natural gas business activities of marketing or purchasing is required. * Familiarity with Texas intrastate natural gas transportation business and major hubs is required. * Ability to work with a team * Ability to multitask and problem solve * Good organizational and planning skills are required. * Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
