Responsibilities will include:

  • Obtains accurate information regarding the scheduling of patients for SFH operating rooms. This function is performed via telephone, fax and computer with Physician offices.

    Ensures all Managed Care requirements are met at the time of scheduling and pre-certifications are obtained prior to admissions/procedures. Obtains, completes, and follows- up on all pertinent information required to schedule patients.


  • HS Diploma/GED required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • 3 years of Hospital/Physician office scheduling experience.

  • Must have excellent problem solving skills, proficient in medical terminology and of OR operations.

Our Lady of Consolation is a 345 Long Term and Sub Acute facility providing exceptional care and services. We are a proud member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island and a leader is quality healthcare. We are currently seeking a unique position for a Resident Assessment Coordinator with MDS experience. The Resident Assessment Coordinator is responsible to set up assessment reference dates for all new admissions and PPS assessments. Facilitate MDS for all Medicare / PPS and HMO's as required by regulation for reimbursement. Monitor patients who are Medicare Part A eligible and follow until no longer qualified. Have an understanding of scheduling assessments and schedule them appropriately to maintain a backup schedule for every resident. Knowledge of denial letters and processes when necessary. Monitor interdisciplinary team and track timely completion of MDS. Knowledge of CMI maximization and be able to monitor and record a full house and quarterly assessment period. QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a current NY State license as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred. Must have at least 3 years experience in Long Term Care or a combination of Long Term Care and Acute Care. Familiar with the MDS and Medicare/PPS knowledge. Familiarity with RUGS scores and PRI scores. Must be knowledgeable of RAI processes, Federal, State and Joint Commission standares as they relate to Long Term Care and Sub-Acute Care.
