Description

University Physicians Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Scheduler / Patient Service Representative (PSR) position for a UNIVERSITY HEART SURGEONS, a specialty surgical office located within the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

Job duties include:

• Scheduling outpatient diagnostic testing and procedures

• Precertification of testing and procedures

• Scheduling outgoing referrals to other specialties

• Appropriately documents authorizations and appointments in the patient record

• Enters signed and faxed orders and scans them to the patient record

• Communicates with provider regarding insurance denials or other issues

• Operates and utilizes the medical center's scheduling program

• Provide patients with necessary instructions for scheduled appointments

• Answers phones and EMR messages in a timely manner

• Works well with provider and staff

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Clinical background experience with medical terminology and must possess a strong knowledge of medical insurance

6-months to 1-year previous medical experience.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and organization is critical to the overall success of the candidate.
