Job Description: * POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates the scheduling of procedures for Outpatient Infusion Services, according to policy and to meet the needs of the patient, physician, and Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. Assists in processing physician orders, maintains patient charts in an accurate manner, and maintains adequate unit supplies. As needed, will assist clinical team members by performing a variety of duties for patients within the patient care system and under direct/supervision of a registered nurse.

1.Considers priorities and special needs when scheduling appointments and procedures.
2.Directs and maintains schedule according to policies, nursing staff availability, equipment availability, and patient needs.
3.Coordinates schedule assessing conflicts and adjusts schedule as needed.
4.Facilitates daily completion of the facility schedule.
5.Follows procedure for notification of changes in the schedule (e.g. cancellation).
6.Maintains and protects each patient's right to confidentiality.
7.Engages in excellent telephone etiquette.
8.Assumes clerical duties and responsibilities as delegated.
9.Actively participates directly with patient care and ensures a safe and comforting environment.
10. Transports patients as needed.


High School Diploma/GED required
Medical terminology preferred
Customer service skills and computer skills are required.
Certified Nurse Assistant or Medical Assistant certification preferred. CPR/BLS certification required.

High degree of competency/experience in general. Able to respond to patient needs by interpreting facial expressions and/or verbal communications. Requires good communication and organizational skills. Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment. Requires working with frequent interruptions. Must project a professional image. Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in the job will be required.

Transports & escorts patients to and from hospital departments & treatment rooms using safe transfer techniques, assists clinical personnel in moving patients to and from beds, stretchers, tables, etc. Delivers specimens, equipment, schedules, etc. to all parts of the hospital, maintains transportation equipment in clean & safe condition. May be required to run errands outside the facility on occasion. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: * Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices * Performs transport duties for the department as necessary. * Transport patients from phase I to Phase II * Assist transport of patients from recovery to other hospital departments * Deliver specimens to lab as needed * Establishes, maintains and revises record keeping and filing systems, ensuring confidentiality of information. * Consistently is attentive to detail, when delivering paperwork * Maintains a well-organized and safe environment of care by clearing halls of beds, wheelchairs, linen carts, monitoring devices and reporting non-compliance. * Orders unit supplies * Organizes and restocks in phase I * Organizes and restocks supplies in unit storage room * Maintains intubation box, procedure cart, and airway cart * Maintains unit equipment and contacts Biomed if equipment needs repair. * Returns unsealed code carts to materials department and pharmacy department to replace with sealed code cart. * Performs other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma/GED * Valid Texas Driver’s license preferred * BLS/CPR certification must be completed within 90 days of hire. * Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues. * Good written and verbal communication skills required. * Ability to read, write and speak English required. * Prefer hospital experience JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: * No experience required, however, experience working in a hospital or health care setting is preferred. * Must be able to interact and communicate with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner. * Exhibits tact, enthusiasm, and patience. * Willingness to be crossed trained to other areas. * Must have excellent customer service skills. * Requires good communication and organizational skills. * Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment. * High degree of competency/experience in general.
