The Engineering Scheduler works effectively with the Sales team and other department schedulers to schedule and prioritize Engineering & Certification projects for maximum utilization of manpower, facilities and services. This position has responsibility to foster and maintain working relationships with department schedulers, project managers, sales, design and production team members to promote collaboration and success with projects and customer relations. In addition, the Engineering Scheduler leads by example and demonstrates a high level of commitment to customer service and satisfaction; accepts responsibility, demonstrates initiative, teamwork and attention to detail; presents a professional image through positive attitude, appearance, speech and manners; and displays leadership through modeling behaviors consistent with the company's mission, values and goals.
Essential Job Functions
Works with Sales and Engineering Teams, other department management and schedulers to evaluate facility space and service capabilities, and make recommendations regarding potential sales of Engineering & Certification projects. Schedules Engineering & Certification and outside resources to maximize department efficiency and customer satisfaction, including mediating scheduling conflicts. Reports all scheduling turn-downs to department management.
Keeps Engineering & Certification department schedules current at all times by establishing and adjusting team member assignments and creating project flow charts where needed. Places team members in assignments where they can fully utilize their strengths. Assembles appropriate information within the company scheduling process.
Receives service plans, signed quotes and customer expectations for Engineering & Certification projects. Monitors service plan accuracy for engineering department tasks, expected hours, outside services and parts and provides feedback and recommendations for improvements. Communicates customer and project requirements with the appropriate team members to maximize the utilization of Engineering & Certification teams, facilities, and resources. Coordinates planning process with team leads, certification coordinators, project managers and the customer.
Represents the Engineering & Certification departments at various scheduling, sales and customer meetings. Coordinates and communicates project planning meetings and debrief meetings with the appropriate Engineering Team Lead(s) and Certification team. Assigns appropriate resources to projects, coordinates weekly project update meetings, and manages list(s) of active projects.
Leads or participates in various meetings as the Engineering team representative; assists with identifying and developing Best Practices and preferred processes; and supports special projects as assigned.
Makes decisions by defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions based on data from analysis, experience, familiarity with engineering processes/procedures, application of FAA Regulations, international authority requirements, TCDS, Maintenance Manuals, IPCs, STC's, TSOs, etc. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Develops, maintains and distributes project/team schedules and labor utilization reports. Enters individual task items with flows as well as updates on percent completes. Creates and improves standard planning items including the basic task lines inherent in the structure. Performs data entry, maintenance of lists, and preparing reports for meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Environmental: Tolerates working in a noisy, i.e., production, environment
Education and Experience
High school education or equivalent required
Five years experience in Business and General Aviation aircraft modifications or related engineering or business experience Minimum 3 years Duncan Aviation experience preferred
Previous experience in scheduling and/or leading projects preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Project, etc.) required
