SCHEDULER

Summary

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of production planning and customer service communication. Scheduling duties to plan, schedule, and expedite work orders.

Essential Jobs and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for personal adherence to all applicable Safety, GMP, Food Safety, and Plant Policies

  • Complete a minimum of 2 Observation and 2 Near miss audits per month.

  • Professional communication skills, orally written to both internal and external customers.

  • Responsible for working with Supply Chain managing safety stock levels and forecasted items.

  • Plan and schedule personnel and machine loads, material requirements, and all associated paperwork based on sales orders and forecast

  • Review outsourcing inventories

  • Make recommendations on material substitution, as appropriate, and within engineering and quality limitation

  • Handles daily scheduling problems that might arise from customer orders

  • Review O&O, write disposals, and make inventory adjustments

  • Assist in raw material planning and ordering

  • Create weekly reports

  • Performs other special tasks as required.

Contribution to Safety, Quality and GMP

  • Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.

  • Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.

  • Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness and professionalism of your attitude.

  • Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.

  • Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.

  • Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.

  • Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of you and your team's work.

  • Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.

  • Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.

  • Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.

  • Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.

Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of scheduling, purchasing and inventory control

  • This position will have constant interaction with production, inside sales, central supply, warehouse, and external vendors. Must have ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization (written and verbal).

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Basic working knowledge of Excel and Word Software

  • Must read, write, and speak English

  • Excellent phone manner

Education

GED or High School Diploma Required

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), preferably in a business, technical or behavioral science discipline or a combination of education and 5-10 years of work-related experience equivalent to a four-year college degree required.

2-4 years of college education or equivalent work experience

Advanced user training in the following computer programs: Excel, Word & PowerPoint

Work Environment

Works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.

Spends long hours sitting and frequently required to use repetitive hand motion. Occasionally required to lift supplies and materials (up to 20 pounds).
