This position is responsible for scheduling the order of production throughout plant operating departments. This position will be located in the production plant to appropriately schedule and manage changes based on commercial & production needs. This individual must be safety minded & comfortable on the production floor while communicating with the operations team. The ideal individual will be proficient in the following software or the aptitude to learn: Excel, SAP, QMOS & AMI. Strong attention to detail is required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Interface closely with the Operations, SIOP & Commercial Teams to compile & maintain schedule while fulfilling customer demand.
Create daily schedules for each department through the understanding of available materials, orders & line capacities in SAP; update my CMC & other applicable areas.
Generate daily production schedules for Rolling Mill and Melt Shop using QMOS and / or AMI.
Prepare & lead weekly required meetings with SIOP team & local plant operations with strong communication and understanding of scheduling successes, concerns.
Provide recommendations to SIOP & plant management on anticipated inventory issues to help prevent shortages of critical materials.
Email the daily production ton's report to maintain open communication about status of production metrics. Also, aid the SIOP team in using this information to determine if the schedule needs to be revised to better meet customer demand and/or plant operational efficiencies.
Collaborate with SIOP team to maintain & manage the schedule integrity.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skill Requirements
3 7 years of experience in Planning preferred
CPIM, CSCP or other supply chain certification a plus
MRP experience preferred
Forecasting experience preferred
