Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing services both direct and indirect for the care and treatment of the patient throughout Sparrow Clinton Hospital. The Registered Nurse will float to the area of need according to patient/staffing needs of the organization. Areas included Emergency Department, Infusion Center (excluding chemotherapy administration), Surgery (excluding intraop.), and Inpatient Unit. The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individual patient care according to Nursing Services policies, procedures, and standards of care. Accepts responsibility for the supervision and direction of co-workers in the implementation of the nursing care plan.

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Job Requirements
General Requirements • Current Michigan license to practice as Registered Nurse • BCLS certification within 60 days of hire. • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire. • PALS course withing 1 year of hire. • Cardiac Arrhythmia Interpretation with 6 months of hire. • TNCC or equivalent within 1 year of hire. Work Experience • Nursing experience preferred • Critical care or ER experience preferred Education • Graduate from an accredited nursing program. • Graduate from an accredited BSN program preferred. Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to patient served in service area (newborn to geriatric). The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience. • Clinical knowledge and analytic ability necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans and interventions. • Demonstrates critical thinking skills. • Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
