Job Overview:

The primary function of the Scale Clerk is to schedule orders, answer phone calls, and perform scale and front desk operations. This is a Part-Time non-exempt position, M-F during normal business hours and occasional Saturdays throughout the busy season. This position reports to the Office Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet, welcome and direct visitors appropriately.

• Notify company personnel of visitor arrival.

• Answer or refer inquiries visitor inquiries.

• Maintain employee and department directories.

• Calculate costs for drivers based on vehicle weight.

• Keeps a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Monitor outside vehicles in the yard.

• Answer phone calls and provide customers with accurate information and willingness to help solve problems.

• Work with customers to solve basic issues without management intervention.

• Enter accurate customer data into the computer system while taking orders.

• Provide availability, size, and pricing information to customers regarding temporary dumpster rentals.

• Facilitate communication between customers, drivers, and management.

• Report customer complaints and issues to the proper team members to facilitate issue resolution.

• Follow up with customers who have inactive cans to generate additional revenue.

Qualifications/Experience/Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of position related experience - preferred.

• Excellent communication and organization skills.

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel / Microsoft Word / Microsoft Outlook).

• Ability to multi-task.

• Able to pass a 7-year criminal background check.
