Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Field Engineer to join our growing Resilience Water / Construction Management Team in Southern, CA.

This is an exciting opportunity for a SCADA Field Engineer to join our team and contribute to projects with a variety of automation system field investigations and design, inspections, and SCADA integration. The selected candidate will be responsible for instrumentation, control and SCADA field investigations services for diverse clients and projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems and facilities.

Role accountabilities:

  • Provide field engineering inspection services to review and verify design and construction documents for projects.

  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers assigned to the project and prepare field investigations technical memoranda, develop and review loop drawings, detailed input / output (I/O) list, and process, and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).

  • Conduct factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkout, and startup of I&C and SCADA systems.

  • Utilize technical experience and expertise in the execution of I&C and SCADA projects from inception to successful startup and turnover.

  • Produce written specifications for implementing I&C and SCADA projects.

  • Travel up to 75% is required. Travel will be conducted for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field of study.

  • 3 or more years of Instrumentation and control consulting or integration experience in the water/wastewater market.

  • Valid Driver's license.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic proficiency in Autocad or Revit

  • Ability to self-direct and work on multiple assignments at once while meeting project deliverable dates and completing other task-driven assignments.

  • Ability to execute projects and direct others.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent teamwork skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook).

  • Rockwell Automation PLC and PlantPAx programming experience.

  • HMI programming experience.

  • Knowledge of designing loop drawings.

  • Basic knowledge of IT and industrial networks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Rockwell Automation HMI/PLC platforms configuration and programming.

  • Experience in IT and industrial networks.

  • Startup experience.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $50-65$ hourly. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
