Job Title: SCADA Engineer
Job Description
As a SCADA Engineer, you will install, configure, and commission SCADA systems for power distribution and generation facilities. You will perform routine maintenance tasks including software updates, database management, and system backups. Monitoring SCADA systems for performance issues and troubleshooting hardware or software problems as they arise will be a crucial part of your role. You will collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement system upgrades or modifications, provide training and technical support to end-users on SCADA system operation and maintenance, conduct site visits to assess equipment condition, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions. Additionally, you will document all activities, including installation procedures, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting steps. Adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations while working in field environments is mandatory. Staying informed about emerging technologies and industry trends related to power SCADA systems is also required.
Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Previous experience working with Power SCADA systems in a field technician role is highly desirable.
Proficiency in PLC ladder logic, scripting, protection relay configuration and familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.
Familiarity with SCADA software platforms (e.g., Wonderware, GE Proficy, Siemens WinCC).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Willingness to travel to client sites and work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
