SBA Loan Specialist Opportunity Overview

The SBA Loan Specialist for Banner Bank performs routine duties related to preparing, assembling and verifying the accuracy of SBA loan documentation; services as needed or verifies the servicing of booked loans; prepares various reports for auditors, management and board of directors. Acts as a liaison between the borrower and the loan officer by knowing the borrower and the file, as well as the assigned lender to best serve the customer. Knows SBA rules and regulations to best protect the interest of the bank and the government.

As the SBA Loan Specialist for Banner Bank, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Prepare loan files for credit approval. Prepare and compile loan documentation as required by the SBA to receive approval on loans. Order and review commercial loan documents to ensure proper vesting, legal descriptions, dates, signatures, etc. Order appraisals, environmental reports, floods determinations, title reports, etc., as required. Prepare documentation sheets to ensure files are completed in a timely manner. Act as a closing agent for loans as needed. Follow up to verify accuracy of input as needed.

  • Maintain a tickler system to follow up on financial information that may be required by the loan agreement, verify accuracy of statements as they are received. Track loan covenants. Prepare letters and memo's as required to customers and the SBA.

  • Follow up on maintenance of files that property taxes are paid current on assigned commercial RE loans. Assist lender with follow up on insurance, UCC renewals, financial statements and tax returns, corporate verification of status, inspections etc. Monitor loans serviced to ensure that require changes are made and are accurate

  • Assist customers and financial center personnel with questions or problems concerning SBA loans.

  • Assist loan officer if commercial construction project and general loan disbursements by maintaining cost breakdown spreadsheets. Prepare draw request and gather lien waivers. Compile and prepare all required reports for management, audit purposes, and SBA reporting.

  • Maintain and balance commercial loan holdover accounts on a monthly basis. Work with SBA manager to insure Colson 1502 report is accurate.

  • Assist in or prepare SBA claim files to be submitted to the SBA Herndon liquidation Center as assigned.

Travel: Overnight travel as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Certifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of commercial loan documentation experience required.
  • 2 or more years of experience in SBA preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Must possess strong organization skills with the ability to multi task while meeting or exceeding critical deadlines in an environment prone to interruptions.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Vision, Laser Pro, Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of professionals who share a common vision of promoting public health education to our communities. This position will orchestrate the Idaho Physical Activity and Nutrition Program and perform Epidemiology Officer and Comprehensive Cancer Comprehension program duties. * Oversee the Idaho physical activity and nutrition (IPAN) subgrant. This subgrant manages physical activity and nutrition technical assistance and support. Coordinate community based nutrition and physical activity programs * Epidemiology duty office duties to include reportable disease investigations and reporting, outbreak management, contact follow-up, data entry and analysis and formal written reports. * Oversee the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, implement evidence-based interventions focusing on breast cancer, colorectal cancer, skin cancer, and HPV vaccination, and academic detailing relating to colorectal cancer screenings. * Assist with Tobacco Cessation and prevention efforts.
