Position Summary

The primary role of this position is to perform basic shop duties as listed below.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Maintain raw material inventory records.

  • Pull raw material to fill job orders.

  • Set up and operates saw.

  • Load and unload trucks.

  • Use personal safety equipment

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Ability to operate a forklift

  • Basic computer skills

DESIRED

  • Prior experience in an industrial shop

  • Ability to operate

Working Conditions

This position is considered SHOP/INDOOR WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Primarily indoors during the day and occasionally at night.

  • Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.

  • When outdoors, humidity is frequently above 90%

  • Noise is over 85 decibels.

  • Light is intense/glare.

  • Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.

  • Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.

This position is considered MEDIUM work.

OCCASIONAL

  • Lift 20-50 pounds

  • Work in confined spaces, kneel, jump, run, work while lying on stomach/back, crawl, and use repetitive movements of the arms and hands.

  • Wear PPE for skin protection

FREQUENT

  • Lift 10-25 pounds

  • Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects

  • Twist body, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated, and work with arms extended overhead.

CONSTANT

Job Summary Position responsible for ensuring adequate communication between parties and hospital personnel, for operating telephone switchboard and dispatching calls.Job Description Minimum Qualifications: High School graduate or GED. One year customer service experience. Ability to operate telephone switchboard; basic computer skills required. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with the public, physicians, ancillary departments and other staff members. Strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task while working in a complex and stressful environment. Principle Accountabilities: Operates telephone switchboard, answering all incoming and in-house calls in a quick and professional manner; assist patients with information and directions to specific areas in the hospital; respond quickly and effectively to all emergency codes using proper hospital procedures. Utilizes paging system and overhead paging to issue fire alarms, disaster alerts, STAT calls and page MET's and physicians. Make announcements as requested over the hospital intercom. Communicates patient needs to appropriate personnel, following proper reporting procedures in compliance with HIPPA laws, documenting all patient concerns/complaints and ensuring adequate follow-up. Monitors Phone-O-Matic systems; ensures availability of TDD telephone and amplified receivers, arranging for delivery and maintaining logs; replaces non working phones and lists on repair log. Adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
