Perform SBIRS CLS Operations Satellite System Engineer (SSE) duties.
The SSEs assist the Air Force operators in all spacecraft bus and payload operations by planning and scheduling mission critical events, assisting in the generation and maintenance of command plans, technical advice and assistance during anomaly resolution activities, documenting and trending system performance and providing recommendations for optimal system operational methods and techniques.
They assist the Air Force operators during spacecraft commanding, ensuring proper execution of command plans, scheduling constellation and ground system activities, participating in anomaly resolution activities, launch and early orbit activities, and documenting system performance. The SSEs monitor the SBIRS satellite constellation health and performance by evaluating telemetry alarms and warnings, monitoring commanding and responding to satellite anomalies when required.
Also, local travel to MCSB to perform these operations support duties as required (estimated 2 weeks per year per).
Support the facilitation of communications between the operations and engineering groups on system status and operational issues.
Assist in the preparation and implementation of FOS operations product development and test and verification implementation plans.
Provide inputs to the collection and reporting of applicable metrics for status briefings to Managers.
