Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education is seeking a part-time Reading/Writing and Math Instructor for our SAT Prep Courses. We are looking for an experienced educator, who can connect with students, to aid them in learning math, reading and grammatical concepts in order to increase their abilities to do well on the S.A.T. exam.

Applicants must have knowledge of test taking skills and SAT content, skills, and subjects to provide instruction. Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education offers four (4) SAT Prep Courses starting in August through April. Applicants are required to have a minimum of a bachelor degree or higher and experience in educating students. The Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law and Penn State requires employees who have contact with children in youth programs sponsored by Penn State to obtain the following

Various short-term courses, in a variety of health and safety topic areas, will be offered during the day, evening, and on weekends at the campus in Lemont Furnace or at selected off campus locations. Classes can meet one or more days per week and the length of class time can vary from a minimum of 2 hours to a maximum of 8 hours per day. Most classes meet for 3 or 4 sessions. Instructors will be needed in the following subject areas: emergency services training and education, healthcare, safety and other first responder oriented courses (such as law enforcement and rescue programs) to professionals and entry level workers in various industries and occupations. Instructors should have proper credentials and certifications as required by the specific training program along with work experience in the program content area. Teaching experience with adult students is preferred. Pay for these classes is determined based on the frequency and duration of each class with no University benefits.
