SUMMARY:

The SAP Tech Lead

  • S 4 Hana

  • ABAP Developer is responsible for managing all activities related to the greenfield SAP S/4 HANA implementation project in support of Gulf States Toyota's business and technology transformation efforts. They will ensure that all SAP project goals are accomplished according to specifications and business objectives. The SAP implementation project will have high visibility as it is on the critical path of an enterprise initiative for overhauling the core applications that run our major business functions. The SAP project will have high complexity as the SAP S/4 HANA system being implemented will need to integrate with multiple internal and external systems. This role will work closely with the SAP Implementation Partner Project Manager and the GST Senior SAP Architect to accomplish the complex technical tasks and will need to understand our application roadmap and dependencies with other enterprise transformation initiatives. This SAP Tech Lead must have 5+ years of experience leading development efforts in SAP Solutions and SAP S/4 HANA implementations are preferred.

The SAP Tech Lead -- S 4 Hana -- ABAP Developer will provide IT process expertise and implement technology to enhance and/or streamline business processes. This position will research and resolve production problems, review technical specifications from functional requirements for workflows, enhancements, interfaces, forms, and support projects. This position will assume responsibility for the quality and delivery of technology business solutions. This Tech Lead is responsible to provide high level designs and solid solutions for GAP's. They will also need to come out with SAP development options for resolving the GAP's and providing development efforts including complexity of the effort and estimates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the discovery and high-level analysis process with the SAP Implementation Partner for the SAP S/4 HANA implementation project in support of our technical transformation.

  • Provide SAP support including analysis, development, testing, tracking, and problem resolution.

  • Research production problems and/or enhancement issues and make appropriate code changes to the system. Initiate action and evaluate issues to develop alternative solutions. Apply expert knowledge and experience to resolve problems.

  • Key member of the SAP ABAP team responsible for the technical design and coding. Supports SAP modules by implementing, solving break/fix issues, and by providing design and development of WIEF objects (Workflows, Interfaces, Enhancements and Forms).

  • Collaborate with other teams such as Business Analysts, Functional, Basis and Security Teams.

  • Log issues and maintain status in issue tracking system for prioritizing work and reporting status.

  • Provide input into the design of SAP enhancements and roll outs, offering feedback and advice.

  • Develop quality ABAP code and its associated documentation, adhering to team & departmental guidelines.

  • Provide technical expertise for system design, testing, implementation and support.

  • Assist SAP Functional Analyst in requirements gathering and validation.

  • Collaborate on technical solution design, unit testing, and technical documents authoring.

  • Assist in resolving production support problems. Develops and suggests alternative approaches to resolving problems.

  • Conduct quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.

  • Good knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying OSS notes.

  • Develop test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. Identifies issues as appropriate.

  • Collaborate and provide excellent customer service to end users by working closely with the Architecture, Functional, Development, BASIS, and Security teams and project teams, to deliver high quality solutions on time.

  • Ability to work periodic evenings and weekends for production support and implementations as needed.

  • Use extensive IT Development knowledge at domain level and supports change management and business adoption of technologies.

  • Good understanding of the Business Requirements and ability to translate them to Solution Implementation and Deliverables, along with estimates for delivery.

  • Develop and conduct SAP mentoring, training and knowledge transfer to technical team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.

  • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements:

Requires a bachelor's degree with 10+ plus years of experience in the field or in a related area or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • The SAP Lead Specialist must have 5+ years of experience leading development efforts in SAP Solutions and SAP S/4 HANA implementations are preferred.

  • 8+ years of hands on experience in SAP ABAP with a preference for Hana.

  • Experience with Core Data Services (CDS views), ABAP Objects, Switch Framework, oData/IDOCs, Workflows, Web services, SAP Scripts and Smart forms.

  • Experience in the following topics and ability to apply them to bring value to organizational initiatives: SAP ABAP Development, Hana Technical Concept and Architecture, Data Modeling using Hana Studio, Code Performance Rules and Guidelines for SAP Hana, Native SQL, ABAP Core data Services and Hana Live models consumption.

  • Experience with SAP ERP implementation projects of moderate to high complexity, SAP S/4 Hana a plus.

  • Should possess excellent debugging and trouble-shooting skills in ABAP.

  • Functional knowledge in SAP core modules such as FICO, MM, OTC, PTM, etc.

  • Experience in preparing Technical Design documents from Functional Specs.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 20% of the time and on a domestic basis).
