Job Description

Primary Job Function:

For large projects with multiple systems, the application architect is responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies, working primarily with management and technical specialists across functional disciplines. Participates in the development of the Abbott infrastructure and understands the impact and needs of the applications. Supports the application and technical specialists in the multi-system application architecture and has a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs for the applications involved and the impact upon each other.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Leads teams consisting of other functional groups within the Abbott IT organization to establish technical strategies and the tactical plans to be positioned for the current and future needs of the business.

Evaluates application system needs across multiple systems and develops corresponding application and logical data architectures and standards.

Provides strategic consultancy support to clients, Senior Application Technical Specialists and other technical architects in all aspects of enabling technologies to meet business needs. Provides expertise on application architecture design or improvement in the areas of SAP PP-PI, QM, HUM & WM.

Experience in Master Recipes and Process Instruction Sheets is preferred. Considers the performance impact of the architecture. Integrates SAP with other external Planning, Manufacturing and Quality systems

Collaborates with hardware, network and database architects to research new technologies and make recommendations to management on these new technologies at Abbott. Facilitates the purchase and introduction of new technologies.

Communicates and educates the technical and business communities on current architectures and technologies and industry trends.

Performs technical oversight of implementation projects to assure alignment with architecture and technology standards. Collaborates with the hardware, network and database architects in application design and implementation.

Works closely with product vendors ensuring strategic and architectural fit, and ability of product to scale in order to meet Abbott requirements.

Position Accountability / Scope:

Works on projects and support that could impact up to 60,000 Abbott employees and multi-million dollar projects.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree/ Master's Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience / Training Required:
12 + years of relevant experience including 3+ years as Application Architect or in similar role.

Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain. The role is for a Senior Analyst supporting the Cardinal Brand Medical Inventory segment, responsible for execution of RC to DC tactical activities including running Patient Recover LB and other RC to DC truck load build activities, running the Open PO report, PR emergency allocation, projects and ad hoc analysis as needed. Accountabilities Responsible for RC Deployment and process improvement to support the Cardinal Health Brand inventory fulfillment segment. This role requires the ability to analyze large sets of data to quickly determine the correct course of action to maintain product flow and network balance. Expediting inventory/rush orders out of the RC and following product flow into the DC Trend analysis- fair share allocation & inventory vs customer demand Warehouse, Field and Planning collaboration Various reporting and adhoc analysis in addition to special projects Using SAP ECC and APO, Alteryx, Access, Excel- pivot tables, vlookups, using "if/then" statements", concatenate- merging info into recognizable single value Qualifications Bachelor degree, or equivalent experience * Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience * 1-3 years' experience preferred * Replenishment experience preferred * Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and Access * Ability to build strong collaborative relationships and communicates effectively * Previous process improvement experience * Previous experience with SAP/ECC, APO, BIA, HANA, & Tableau preferred * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills What is expected of you for success in your role * Demonstrates working knowledge of universally accepted inventory management concepts and applicable SOPs * Independently analyzes customer demand, service level and days inventory on hand (DIOH) * Complies with SOPs and recommends possible changes * Utilizes necessary systems to perform required tasks, displaying intermediate computer skills * Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
