The IBM SAP Practice is seeking SAP MDM/MDG Techno functional consultants for providing Master data strategy, implementing SAP Master data Management and Governance solutions. The SAP MDM/MDG consultant will define strategies, develop and deliver solutions that enable the collection, processing and management of information from one or more sources, and the subsequent delivery of information to audiences in support of key business processes. This position provides leadership and oversight of the Data Governance objectives, policies, and procedures. The candidate is expected to have, strong consulting skills paired with strong technical skills, to convey the value of an MDM solution to the client (pros/cons, challenges, requirements needed, etc). Strong understanding or hands-on experience with data quality, data profiling and metadata management. Hands on experience or understanding of data structure classifications, workflow and processes. Hands-on experience leading data definitions development, data quality improvements, data model updates, and troubleshooting efforts of the analytics projects and collaborating with cross functional teams comprised of client groups, project teams, and IT organizations. Experience collaborating data with owners and users/analysts across the customer operations to modify, or implement new repeatable and reliable businesses processes to improve and sustain effective data governance resulting in improved quality and consistency of data used to drive key business decisions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Real time SOA and batch integration with sources and consumers.

  • Strong, multi domain data repository supporting most industries and use cases.

  • Strong probabilistic matching capabilities for match and search.

  • Stewardship understanding and knowledge / Ability to enable others for Master Data Governance.

  • Support of common implementation styles of MDM.

  • Discovery of data on sources and validation.

  • Master Data Domain experience in one or more of the following data domains (e.g. Product, Customer, Client, Provider, Vendor).

Experience working closely with Data Architects to ensure changes are appropriately synchronized with the metadata strategy and logical data model. Experience leading technical aspects of the delivery of SAP Business Intelligence (BI) solutions & related components, working across business/technology teams to ensure alignment between business solution definition & systems architecture for the organization.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 4 years of experience in Master data management (MDM) with expertise in implementing SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).

  • At least 2 years experience with at least one of the major Data Management Solutions for SAP Data Migration (IBM InfoSphere Information Server, SAP Business Objects Data Services, Informatica ETL and Data Quality Suite, Back Office Associates Data migration Suite).

  • At least 8 years experience with SAP ERP implementations.

  • Experience with Data quality tools and reporting.

  • Experience with Data Integration tools to standardize, cleanse and load data.

  • Experience with Collaborative authoring capabilities of master data.

  • Experience in Webdynpro,FPM,BRF+,Data Modelling ,UI Modelling and MDG Rule Based workflow is required.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • At least 6 years of experience in Master data management with expertise in implementing SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).

  • At least 4 years experience with at least one of the major Data Management Solutions for SAP Data Migration (IBM InfoSphere Information Server, SAP Business Objects Data Services, informatica ETL and Data Quality Suite, Back Office Associates Data migration Suite).

  • At least 10 years experience with SAP ERP implementations.

  • Experience designing and architect of MDM solutions.

  • Experience leading and mentoring Master Data Management (MDM) team members.

  • Experience implementing Data Governance Best Practices.

  • Ability to apply MDM concepts across technology platforms (sourcing and vending of Master Data).

Serve as a key contributor and co-lead supporting monthly data load processes, new initiatives, new products, and new data sources from a point of view of Credit MIS business owner of the risk aggregation data platform (RDG DM). Identify and drive innovative strategic expansion of the data and reporting platforms. Essential Responsibilities: * Work closely with business teams in Credit, IT, Risk, Marketing, and Operations to improve and validate accuracy of existing RDG fields through the independent research of data issues, evidence and user acceptance tests (UAT). * Assist in the onboarding of new data sources into risk aggregation data platform (RDG), analyze differences in data, suggest mapping changes to standardize and cleanse onboarding data sources, design and execute user acceptance tests for new data. * Run and continuously improve risk aggregation data platform (RDG) monthly load validation process and visualization reports. * Support new product integration into risk aggregation data platform (RDG) by attending business meetings and converting business requirements into new reporting data fields through helping with design and testing. * Help drive the expansion of the RDG platform to develop internal account level expense and profitability metrics and create an environment for portfolio profitability analyses. * Keep pace with the latest developments in the regulatory environment, risk technology (Data-lake, ETL platforms and data warehousing) and financial services industries to evaluate impacts or opportunities for Synchrony. Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of work related experience in credit, risk, analytics, IT, operations or finance; in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, 6+ years of work related experience in credit, risk, analytics, IT, operations or finance * 2+ years of experience with SQL and/or Python Desired Characteristics: * 3+ years of work related experience in credit, risk, analytics, IT, operations or finance * Curious investigative mindset for data and its relationship to business, reporting, financial modeling. * Self-starter with strong organizational and analytical skills. * Bachelor's degree in Technical field is preferred. * Master's degree or foreign equivalent in MIS or related technical field * Previous experience with business intelligence/data warehousing/visualization platforms (either project management implementation or coding or both). * Understanding of Waterfall and/or Agile project management methods. * Experience with ETL tools like Ab Initio or Informatica. * Strong willingness and eagerness to learn and expand data tool skills (e.g. Python, data lake technology) Eligibility Requirements: * You must be 18 years or older * You must have a high school diploma or equivalent * You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process * You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. * Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.
