What You'll Do

Reporting to the Manager of Facilities and Maintenance, you will develop comprehensive job plans for preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance tasks in order to reduce reactive maintenance. You will be responsible for maintaining master data equipment files and SAP records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and current information. Other duties will include:

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.

  • Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.

  • Align with the Business Excellence, identify and implement framework and strategy to reduce waste and improve quality, productivity and safety performance.

  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.

  • Supports BEx initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility

  • Conduct risk assessments using appropriate tools (Take5!, JSA, PTW, Gemba walks, equipment checklists)

  • Report all hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately

  • Participate in Safe Act Observation (SAO) process

  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis

  • Suggest safety improvements for work area

  • Actively participate in department 5s Program.

  • Work directly with other Maintenance Group resources to solve reoccurring maintenance problems through equipment and material selection, maintenance job plans, and mechanical design.

  • Assists Maintenance personnel with technical support and "on their tools" as needed (i.e. call-ins, emergency break-downs, routine outages, etc.).

  • Supports the Site's Lubrication program, oil analysis through response to needs and issues identified by Lubrication/Maintenance Technicians.

  • Supports the Site's Mechanical Integrity program as a part of the plant's Process Safety Management program and Risk Management Plan.

  • Participate in Process Hazard Analyses, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, and Management of Change evaluations as required.

  • Keeps Maintenance & Production Management apprised of all activities.

  • Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma. AS or BS in an Engineering/Technical/Vocational certification is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing with industrial maintenance, projects management, and economic analysis.

  • Experience in mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulics equipment, precision tools, extrusion as well as an understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM). A strong desire to learn and promote preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance strategies is a must.

  • Computer: Requires a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and SAP software. AutoCAD/Solid works knowledge is beneficial.

  • Must satisfy the requirements for a "possessor of explosives" as defined by BATFE.
