Position Summary

The Inventory Cycle Counter will track inventory of various materials by performing regular cycle counts, communicate necessary inventory adjustments, research root causes for count discrepancies. In addition, the individual will own the NCR area to ensure action items are completed, material is moved to the proper locations, and SAP transactions are performed accurately.

Responsibilities
40% of the time you will: Print inventory reports, establish cycle counting frequency based on material value, perform regular cycle counts, reconcile inventory as appropriate, communicate necessary inventory adjustments to Plant Superintendent, Warehouse Manager and Finance, and maintain good records of inventory discrepancies and actions taken.
20% of the time you will: Research root causes for count discrepancies, work with the SAP Support team and Finance to resolve, and develop processes (eg., work instructions, job aides, training) to prevent re-occurrence.
20% of the time you will: Manage all material that is placed in the NCR area, ensure NCR forms are completed and given to QA, ensure action items are completed, transfer material to the proper locations, work with EH&S Manager if disposal is required, work with production (Shift Leads and Planner) in cases of rework, and perform all necessary SAP transactions.
10% of the time you will: Perform material handler and other duties as requested by the Plant Superintendent.
10% of the time you will: Lead process improvement projects to ensure zero inventory risk, as well as aid production employees in ensuring SAP inventory is accurate.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Valid Illinois Driver's License required

  • 2 Years of Continuing Education preferred

  • Communication: Ability to write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, team members and customers.

  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Reading Comprehension: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Analysis/Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Safety: Ability to prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practice by promoting a safe work environment.

  • Equipment: Ability to operate forklift, reach truck, and pallet jack (will certify upon hire)

  • Quality: Ability to follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.

  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.

  • Continuous Improvement: Knowledge of Lean practices. Ability to lead process improvement projects.

Travel Required

This job requires less than 10% domestic travel.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in West Chicago, IL.
