The Senior Event Marketing Manager Americas Small and Midsize Business will provide leadership and execution excellence in creating best in class events for the business unit servicing businesses ranging in size from one to 4,000 employees. SAP Concur's SMN portfolio of programs are positioned to help generate, accelerate and close pipeline; create customer loyalty and drive renewals; as well as drive awareness of SAP Concur's market leading suite of on-demand services through relevant, high-value events and experiences.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and agile marketing leader that has experience in managing a wide-variety of event programs aligned to revenue growth targets with multiple stakeholders. This position requires a strategic marketing leader with experience in creating and executing events partnering with both our Channel Partner team, and SAP organization in targeting new business prospects and C-level executives. Skilled at working in a matrixed organization, and the ability to develop relationships with teams and leaders throughout the company.

The Sr. Event Marketing Manager will support our growing SMB programs. This position will work closely with the corporate events, SMB marketing teams, Channel Development, SAP Partners and sales team to plan and execute quality in-person experiences that delight and inform a community of SMB prospects and customers.

Some of the things you'll be doing will include

  • Overall event management for assigned suite of SMB prospect events and conferences. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Pre-program planning and process management

  • Risk assessment and management

  • Concept/Idea generation

  • Internal client and vendor management

  • Attendee/Onsite Management

  • Budget preparation and contract negotiation

  • Works in a cross-functional organization to complete event plans; conducting needs analysis, identifying key event objectives, ancillary event plans, timelines, sponsorship opportunities for implementation, assigns and manages work provided by contributors as needed for successful event execution.

  • Working with the project manager and/or coordinator, helps manage internal stakeholders, cross functional event operations team, design studio, and key vendors responsible for functional areas of each event.

  • Measure impact and results. Evaluate program progress and results against defined metrics. Continue to evaluate and improve processes, resources, and/or structure to gain productivity and other program improvements.

  • Works closely with Sr. Marketing Director to report and manage the event budget against the priorities set for each event.

  • Ensure tasks, updates, project components, and owners are correctly assigned and on track.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop event marketing strategies to meet business objectives

  • Take ownership of assigned events, including strategy, budgeting, planning, forecasting, execution and follow-up

  • Collaborate across business units (SMB Channel Marketing, Content Marketing strategists and Sales) to align around messaging, event format, and goals

  • Coordinate with program managers on pre-event promotion, on-site branding, and outside vendors; some travel required.

  • Manage post-event communications to ensure proper and consistent lead flow

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years in an event strategy/specialist role, preferably within B2BTech Marketing

  • Strong understanding of communications strategy, marketing and branding principles

  • Proactive, problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Strong collaborative and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to stay ahead of trends and best practices for event planning and promotions

  • Basic understanding of lead generation and flow within a B2Borganization

  • Experience working across departments, with leadership, and with external agencies to guide event strategy and execution

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree

The manager will be responsible for overseeing the team and the content presented on our external customer portal, our public knowledgebase, and internal knowledge base as well as manage the search technology to ensure all this knowledge, along with knowledge from other data sources is can be easily searched with the most relevant knowledge bubbling to over 3,500 Global Services and Support team members and for our customers globally. It takes creativity, leadership skills and of course, writing ability, to produce and publish useful content. This role will also use data and feedback from users to help evaluate and enhance the value of the materials presented. The Content Knowledge Manager will be a solid leader, clear communicator and possess great analytical skills. Responsibilities include: * Plan and execute a Services content strategy that drives high engagement and is aligned with our short-term and long-term goals * People manage a team of Program Managers (7) and a Search Architect * Serve as editor-in-chief and provide oversite for Concur's knowledgebase (KB) content to ensure quality, clarity and consistency * Develop proactive KB (vs. case driven) articles * Design and manage archiving strategy and policy * Facilitate the active movement from internal to external KB - edit, proofread and improve writers' posts * Review KB for consolidation, duplication, identifying and improving high value content * Identifying trends in content & opportunities where there are skill gaps by building business cases and making recommendations to address them e.g.– training, proactive articles, coaching etc. * Evaluate overall quality of articles – adherence to content standards and work with the specific teams to feedback coaching recommendations * Working closely with other teams within Concur to devise a web content strategy that aligns with the company's wider goals. * Collaborate with design teams to plan and develop site content, style and layout * Assist in the implementation of an enterprise search solution * Champion projects supporting continuous improvement of Knowledge Management processes and positively impacting associated KPIs * Implement knowledge strategies identified and developed by KCS Council and PMs to improve the knowledge base and promote the use of knowledge with internal teams as well as customers * Leverage analytics provided by KCS Council as well as user feedback to continually monitor knowledge management performance & drive continual improvements and content optimization. * Develop and drive continuous improvement of the Knowledge Management search to proactively serve and rapidly retrieve pertinent, meaningful content to customers Experience Desired: * 5+ years people management experience * Proven work experience as a Content Editor, Web Editor or similar role * Knowledgeable and experience with the KCS (Knowledge Centered Service) methodology or V6 certification preferred * Excellent writing and editing skills in English * Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems * Experience with enterprise search and search engine analytics * Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing * Good organizational and time-management skills * BSc degree in Journalism, Marketing or relevant field * Experience of working (directly or indirectly) with customers in a support environment is preferred. * Excellent organizational skills including ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with ability to prioritize and work to strict deadlines * Strong analytical skills * Excellent project management skills * Strong collaboration and communication skills * High level of attention to detail WHAT YOU GET FROM US Success is what you make it.
