Come and be a part of a global Database Administration team that spans half the world from London to Seattle, and have the opportunity to work with subject matter experts in Couchbase, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle Database. Our team is responsible for 40,000+ databases located in multiple corporate data centers as well as in cloud infrastructure.
Enhance database administration manageability and scalability of our database environments through automation of tasks such as database provisioning, monitoring, and machine responses to common alert conditions
Standardize of Database Administration across platforms by implementing cross platform tools for database monitoring
Continued improvement to the database administration lifecycle, including outreach efforts to the development, QA, product management, and service management teams
Identify opportunities to improve our database implementations and performance
Define, develop, test, and implement schema enhancements, SQL query enhancements, and tuning enhancements to physical database design and architecture.
7+ in Microsoft SQL Server. Knowledge of and experience with MySQL considered a plus.
5+ in scripting on Windows, specifically, PowerShell for Windows environments. Basic knowledge of UNIX Shell scripting preferred.
5+ supporting relational databases in an enterprise-level production environment, including AWS cloud.
A solid foundation in core database administration competencies including high-availability, recoverability (backup\restore), installation and configuration, security, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ETL operations.
A 4-year degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent industry experience.
A positive attitude and the traits that are critical to success as a DBA: analytical skills; critical thinking skills; attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to properly prioritize, plan and organize work; and the ability to multi-task effectively.
