The purpose of the role is to drive the development and adoption of the platform working with engineering teams, aiming for re-usability, improved time to market, and ultimately earn the lasting loyalty of our customers and partners. This individual will be required to support and deliver against both big projects and iterative improvements, while balancing short vs. long-term priorities.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Define and implement a technology vision for the platform, including build/buy decisions for all services and applications.
Develop a long-term product and services roadmap in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Define strategy of collaboration and openness of the platform to 3rd parties.
Drive the execution, launch, and continuous evolution of the platform assuring the application of the common elements and guidelines defined.
Steer the direction of the architecture and technology to establish a strong foundation for the platform and its customers.
Develop, document, and improve best practices shared across the business units and Santander banks.
Hire, manage, and develop a diverse team of highly qualified Engineers. This includes providing expert technical guidance, effective coaching and career development.
Provide expertise in public cloud (Azure, AWS), security frameworks, IaaS and PaaS services, containers, monitoring, operations and familiarity with DevOps.
Guide convergence roadmap of legacy applications moving to cloud environments within the platform strategy.
Lead and inspire a global, agile team to be exceptional in a transformational environment.
Ability to articulate and communicate technical challenges to senior stakeholders, contribute to the roadmap, both for your teams and for the whole engineering department.
We are looking for candidates who meet the next requirements:
Engineering degree is recommended.
5 years of experience at a large software company in a head or director of engineering capacity.
You will have experience and expertise in the following:
Extensive experience architecting and building systems for large SaaS products/Platform business.
Proven experience building, managing, and mentoring technical teams.
Strong track record in technical contribution, ability to challenge technical solutions.
Working with APIs and JIRA.
High level of English is required.
