Responsibilities and Duties: Sanitation Technician
Describe the broad function and scope of the position:
Responsibilities include the sanitation of the total plant environment, both inside and outside the buildings. The routine cleaning of equipment and peripheral areas are part of the overall job responsibilities. Will be accountable for the care and cleaning of all sanitation equipment. Will be accountable for documentation as required by Governmental Regulatory bodies and Kraft Heinz. Will be accountable for the effective and efficient use of supplies and equipment. Green room activities will include use of key measures in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale to track sanitation results. Actively participate in the Idea and Suggestion program for continuous improvement. Will be accountable for daily activities and work standards. Will actively participate in the training of new department employees. Other duties as required by Management.
Principal Sanitation Accountabilities
1.Clean and maintain Kraft Foods Jacksonville facility from floor to ceiling, wall to wall, and corner to corner.
Areas including but not limited to the following:
Battery Charging Stations
Care and Cleaning of Sanitation Equipment
Cleaning of Water hoses/vacuum hoses/Air Hoses
Documentation as required by Regulatory Bodies and KRAFT
Elevator Cars & Shafts
Exterior surfaces of Electrical Panels
Guard Houses, W&O
Light Fixtures and Covers
Locker rooms, Break rooms, Green Rooms
Lunch Storage Area
MCC, Compressor & Oil storage rooms
Overheads (including piping, conduits, exterior of duct work, ceiling tile, lights)
Painting small areas
Periodic Cleaning of Bunkers and Bins
Periodic Cleaning as required
Platforms and framework
Required to use SAP Software
Sanitation Supply and Storage Areas
Windows, Screens and Blinds
Use of tools required for routine cleaning
Vacuum Pump Areas
Vents, Grids & Grills
Wash down Areas
2.Standard Operating Procedures
Maintain safe environment
Participate in Defect Handling
Inspect areas for defects and write up SAP notification to correct all defects
Submit Ideas & Suggestions for continuous improvement
Report any/all pest activity
Maintain GMP and PPE
NCO-Neat, Clean and Orderly
Extra Tasks as needed and assigned.
Housekeeping is everyone's responsibility
All equipment will be cleaned and put away, properly stored for next use incorporating the 5S model.
All hoses rolled up on reels
Vacuum cleaning is preferred instead of air/blowing
All cleaning will be floor to ceiling, wall to wall and corner to corner
Tasks will be reviewed routinely and updated or revised as needed
Comply with all procedures to ensure product safety and integrity.
Understand plant pathogen and environmental programs.
Suggest improvements to help reduce costs and improve procedures utilizing the Idea Trac system.
Develop knowledge and understanding of key measurements and cost drivers. Make go/no go decisions.
Insure that proper cleaning methods and procedures are being used at the production location.
Have knowledge and understanding of the production process.
Maintain a current and comprehensive knowledge of plant sanitation procedures to improve sanitation and reduce costs.
Assist quality, operations and maintenance in troubleshooting both production and sanitation.
Quarterly reviews with site Quality Manager and Sanitation Manager to insure Sanitation resource requirements are being met.
Ongoing meetings with production/sanitation leadership to review sanitation policy/procedure compliance, new projects, new equipment installation and provide training.
Work directly with chemical, safety, and equipment vendors to obtain a proper working knowledge of chemicals and equipment.
Have knowledge and understanding of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale (QCDSM).
Participate and/or facilitate Green Room meetings.
Compliance with all corporate, plant and department safety rules.
Support and participate on Kraft Safety and Risk Management program.
Follow all guidelines pertaining to chemical use and sanitation procedures to insure a safe workplace.
Attend and maintain all required safety training.
Attend and participate on Sanitation training programs.
