Kemin Nutrisurance is seeking a talented and dedicated Sanitation Technician - Food Safety. It is expected that the employee will take careful considerations when performing their job. They are expected to follow instructions, specific procedures and protocols, and adhere to the required measures to maintain a safe, audit ready work environment while ensuring the highest quality of product. The successful candidate will be in charge of and responsible for optimizing sanitation practices to ensure a hygienic manufacturing environment while maintaining all Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety standards; CIP monitoring and supporting GMP inspections. This position will work day shift at the Verona, Missouri Production Plant.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively performs all plant sanitation responsibilities prescribed by the the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).

  • Deep clean and sanitize production areas and equipment including but not limited to pipes, ceilings, walls, drains, in and around dryers, process tanks, fork trucks, racking, etc.

  • Safely operate Scissor Lift while working at various heights to maintain cleanliness in and around working equipment.

  • Complete training and ability to perform Lock Out Tag Out procedures and follow Kemin's Confined Space Downgrade Permit Program.

  • Mix and use approved chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing plant tools and equipment.

  • Inform maintenance and quality of maintenance issues and structural issues to drive continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for understanding production schedule and direct communication with operations manager to prioritize and establish cleaning priorities.

  • Stocking supplies: replenish cleaning and sanitizing supplies, maintain stock areas in an orderly manner.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices and all safety procedures.

  • Follow instructions, specific procedures and protocols, and adhere to policies to ensure the highest quality of product and safe work environment.

  • Work closely with other departments as needed to support production efforts.

  • Operate forklift.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in Food Service or Manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Ability to stand for long periods and to climb stairs.

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 55 lbs.

  • Ability to work safely and effectively at various heights.

  • The position requires excellent attendance, detailed in all aspects of the job, and a self-starter.

  • Ability to read, understand, follow manufacturing standard operating procedures and to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

A post-offer background check and drug screen is required. Additional pre-employment requirements may be necessary based on position.
