Sanitation Technician - 3Rd Shift

Description Giovanni Foods is happy to offer an opportunity on our Sanitation team This is a 3rd shift position. Start time is 10pm, and end time is variable, but normally around 6:30am.

General Summary The Sanitation Technician is responsible for performing duties related to sanitizing machinery, other equipment and the facility. They are also responsible for assigning job duties to Sanitation Assistants, working with the master sanitation schedule to ensure all sanitation duties are completed thoroughly and efficiently. An employee working in this area is expected to operate as a member of a team, which includes assisting one another as needed.

In the absence of the Sanitation Assistant either another Sanitation Assistant or an employee cross trained in that skill and that understands the food safety job requirements will perform this job function. Duties and Responsibilities Verify and perform daily, weekly, and periodic plant wide cleaning and sanitation, including applying cleaning agents, washing, sweeping, and mopping. Adhere to plant Master Sanitation Schedule.

Dismantle and reassemble equipment as necessary to ensure a thorough sanitation is completed. Verify what cleaning agents are used, why we use them, and understand the proper amounts and application process. Ensure adherence to proper MSDS requirements.

Maintain housekeeping, GMP's, and safety within the facility. Perform other duties as needed or assigned by management. Requirements Previous education and experience:

High school diploma or GED required. At least 1 year experience in a food manufacturing setting required. Preferred: At least 1 year sanitation experience in a food manufacturing setting.

Forklift Experience. Knowledge and Skills Needed to Perform Effectively in this Position Strong leadership and ability to motivate. Ability to interact with other employees in a professional and courteous manner.

Ability to complete assignments with minimal direction. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate mechanical and mathematical aptitude.

Physical Requirements: Must be mobile and be able to travel/navigate throughout the facility. Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds without assistance.

Must be able to read documents and use equipment. Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with internal and external contacts. Must be able to occasionally climb, stoop or kneel to perform routine tasks within the scope of the job. Must be able to grip/grab objects.
