This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Lubbock, TX

Job Purpose

The Sanitation Supervisor position is responsible for supervising and developing the Sanitation department, ensuring the safe and efficient daily cleaning of the equipment and facility. The Sanitation Supervisor is a critical position in Hampton Farms Food Quality and Safety Team. Being a producer of peanuts and peanut products, the Sanitation Supervisor is aware of risks involved with regard to maintaining Hampton Farms cleanliness and quality standards. This position will report to the Quality Manager.

Pay range: $54,000 - $68,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs the Sanitation Team to complete all duties in a timely manner

  • Works with quality, production, maintenance and management to schedule plant sanitation activities

  • Works directly with the Quality team to test post clean equipment

  • Works directly with the plant Chemical Supplier to ensure the correct chemicals are on site and the correct cleaning procedures are being followed.

  • Maintains the plant Master Sanitation Schedule and ensures it's completeness.

  • Analyze sanitary needs, and make recommendations for improvements while minimizing food safety risks and keeping best sanitation conditions.

  • Coordinates and/or trains staff on sanitation and safety procedures.

  • Maintain SDS sheets.

  • Maintains cleaning supply inventory using approved vendors.

  • Assists the Quality Assurance Manager in conducting root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

  • Participates in plant audits.

  • Ensures that GMP's are followed.

  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.

  • Supervises staff: recognition, discipline, performance evaluations, etc.

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Works evenings and weekends as required.

  • Review and enforce the Company's food safety, quality and regulatory standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience working in a food processing environment required.

  • 1-3 years of experience in food manufacturing sanitation in a supervisory role.

  • Solid knowledge of chemical use in the cleaning/sanitizing process

  • Sound understanding of GMP's, PC, HACCP, EMP, OSHA, and USDA regulations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient in authorizing MCS/MSS and SSOP's programs

  • Skilled with cleanings in an Allergen changeover environment a plus

  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office.

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.

License/Certification

  • HACCP Certification and SQF Practitioner Certification or obtain these certifications within six months of employment

Physical Demand

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for long hours, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds , and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must wear ear protection at all time within the plant .

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is high.
