JOB TITLE: Sanitation Supervisor

Summary: This position is an integral part of the operation and interacts with all other departments within the company to ensure cleanliness of the Yuma facility, including all processing equipment, overhead, processing floor, employee facilities, storage facilities, and outside grounds, meet or exceed pertinent regulatory standards.

Principal Accountabilities:

Training and supervising sanitation personnel to ensure that all pertinent laws, regulations, company rules (Safety, Chemical Safety, GMP, etc.) and procedures (SSOP) are followed properly. Working closely with Production, Warehousing, and Maintenance in scheduling all sanitation activities.

Ensure adequate sanitation supplies, including cleaning chemicals, cleaning tools, and safety equipment. Ensure that all written cleaning and sanitation procedures are up-to-date. Assist in the writing and updating of forms and SSOPs.

Work closely with QA personnel to ensure effectiveness of cleaning practices. Respond to out of spec. environmental monitoring results promptly and effectively to ensure food safety. Documentation and record keeping:

Master Sanitation Schedules, SSOP, chemical usage, chemical concentrations, etc… Keep all sanitation/safety training records. Assist in the filing of cleaning chemical labels and MSDSs. Plan staffing and resource needs for all cleaning and sanitizing activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Good written and verbal communications skills. Strong attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to plan and execute master sanitation schedule. Bilingual - Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English and Spanish. Minimum five (5) years industry experience in cleaning and sanitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ten (10) years industry experience in cleaning and sanitation. Knowledge of, and experience in advanced food safety and/or quality systems.

Successful completion of college level chemistry and microbiology courses. Proficiency in SSOP writing.

Physical Demand:

Flexibility in work schedule is required. Must be able to work extended hours and weekends at the peak of the processing season.

About 90% will be spent inside food processing plant environment during the cleaning shift. Physical Requirements: lifting (up to 30.0 lbs.), carrying, standing, sitting, arm activity, hand dexterity, bending and twisting. Exposure to extreme heat and cold environments. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, Personal Protective Equipment required.

Work Environment:

Work performed in an office and refrigerated production facility environment. Smoke-free work environment.
