Sanitation Lead Tech 3Pm To 11:30Pm

Summary: The Lead Sanitation Technician is responsible for leading sanitation personnel in cleaning the facilities. Provides technician training and ensures that night crews adhere to all guidelines and that all systems that are serviced are clean.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Services systems by gathering tools to complete work, assisting in cleaning duties, checking that systems are emptied of product, locking and tagging out systems and having line supervisors approve work completed.

• Performs fumigating duties by prepping the system, coordinating work with Plant Sanitation, assigning work to technicians and mechanics, ensuring that all systems are emptied and completing prepping duties.

• Performs investigations by checking insect reports, locating areas where insects are reported, reporting findings to Production Supervisors and Sanitation, cleaning infested area and removing infested products.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

• Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Community college, vocational, business, and technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.

• TDA non-Commercial Pest Applicator License

• Confined Space Entry Certification

• Lockout/Tagout Authorized

• First Aid/CPR Trained

Experience:

• One year experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to work off shifts.

• Must be able to work in a team environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Work requires functioning as a lead worker performing essentially the same work as supervised employees, and includes training, instructing, and scheduling work.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness and humidity.

• Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.

• Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.

• Face mask, SCBA, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, confined space equipment, lockout devices, safety shoes, fall protection and any other personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Sons will be provided.

• Work involves the use of : Computer and related software, vacuum cleaners, drop lights, air guns, extension poles, brushes, air hoses, forklift, pallet jack, tripods, hoist, air meters

• Work involves frequent exposure to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, tedious and exacting work, irregular work schedule and/ or overtime, noisy and/or distracting environment, working closely with others as part of a team, and rarely emergency situations.
