Sanitation Lead plays an important role by developing procedures and training team members on how to clean production equipment, machines, and work areas in the processing facility. They are responsible for the training and management of the handling and preparation of cleaning chemicals and sanitizers, verification of the chemical concentrations, handling and storing of cleaning and sanitation chemicals, and managing chemical spills or incidents. This position is also responsible for the resourcing, management and timely execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Trains others and verifies the proper cleaning of all equipment.
Trains others on how to operate the COP/CIP wash systems
Ensures floor scrubber and vacuums are maintained as necessary
Ensures sanitation chemicals and tools are stored properly
Monitors/tests chemical concentration of all systems
Reviews and documents necessary information on forms and logs
Takes inventory of sanitation supplies and communicates order needs to Procurement
Responsible for ensuring the tasks on the Master Sanitation Schedule are completed according to schedule
Responsible for basic troubleshooting and upkeep of all Sanitation equipment
Ensures COP room is maintained according to GMP and Safety guidelines
Responsible for the oversight of the Chemical Approval process and maintenance of the Chemical Register and SDS binder
Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by manager
Abide by safety rules and policies including SOPs and GMPs
Stops production and escalates any food safety and quality concerns to senior management as necessary
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to anticipate and solve problems
Proficient with data entry and checklists
Knowledge of sanitation chemicals and food facility cleaning processes
Able to operate floor scrubber and vacuums
Data entry, math, and computer skills

Written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
At least 1 year of sanitation experience required
Experience with sanitation equipment in a food manufacturing environment preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, etc.
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds at time
Work Environment:
This position almost constantly works on the manufacturing floor. Possibly exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame, and soybeans
