Samuel Staples Elementary School: .60 FTE Music Teacher

Samuel Staples Elementary School is seeking a positive, high energy music teacher to fill a permanent position which begins with the 2024-2025 school year. Official start date will be August 26, 2024. The position is part-time at .60 FTE.

Salary & Benefits: In accordance with the Easton Education Association's bargaining unit agreement. Comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications:

• CT certification as a Music Teacher (049) in K-12 Music

• Understanding of content and performance standards in General Music at the elementary level

• Preferred experience working with elementary school students

• Strong classroom management skills

• Experience with chorus

• Experience with beginner band instruction

• Strong communications skills

Responsibilities:

• Provides basic vocal and instrumental instruction for students in grade K-5

• Knowledge of the Orff approach

• Communicates with parents and school staff on individual student's progress and ensemble rehearsals

• Cooperation with staff in providing musical programs for school assemblies
