Samples Training Manager
Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for a Samples Training Manager to serve as the leader for developing, implementing, managing, measuring, and improving training and development systems within the plant in order to positively drive organizational performance results, including associate satisfaction, core work team performance, and a safe culture. This position will be located in Dalton, GA.

Responsibilities:
Works closely with the plant leadership team to identify and develop a strategy for Training & Development that is consistent with the overall objectives of the facility.
Coordinate on the job training, transfer, and cross-training for various levels of the Samples facilities.
Conduct needs/gap analysis, and collaboration with department managers and supervisors throughout the facilities to determine and define training needs.
Responsible for attaining and facilitating plant-specific monthly training goals and measuring the success and effectiveness of the training for associates at all levels.
Responsible for managing the on-site HR Trainer.
Site Coordinator for Leader Standard Work (LSW). Facilitate training and lead hands on working sessions and engage plant leadership teams to remove any barriers to LSW success through improved events.
Create and maintain project files for each role completing LSW.
Through communication with the Plant Manager create a LSW roadmap that will act as project guide for LSW, ensuring a timeline is followed. Project timeline will be outlined with the assistance of IE Manager.
Continuously looks to improve training and development at all levels within the plant by staying up-to-date on training best practices and adult learning trends.
In collaboration with the leadership team and Shaw Learning Academy business partners, creates an energetic and engaging learning environment across the facility while ensuring we work toward improving knowledge; skills and behaviors needed to drive business results.
Designs and develops customized training and content curriculums using methods such as the ADDIE model to address identified knowledge and performance gaps specific to the facility.
Coordinates specific training by securing internal and/or external trainers; partners with the Shaw Learning Academy and divisional training resources for implementation of facility programs such as new associate assimilation, on-the-job training, health and safety practices, management development, changes in policies, and procedures and technologies.
Develops training and performance metrics of training programs.
Evaluates effectiveness of training, learning retention, and transfer of knowledge
Coach and supports training team to further training facilitator development
Practices business acumen and ensures training team alignment with larger organizational goals and plant initiatives.

Requirements:
4 year college degree OR high school diploma/GED AND 2+ years of formal training experience
Exceptional public speaking, listening, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Self-starter
Desires to be creative, encourage others, and implement new ideas
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to frequently work different shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and weekends as needed
Preferred:
Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish
Previous training experience
Previous leadership experience
Experience with a distribution/manufacturing environment
