Salt Senior Accountant

Hire Resolve's client, a reputable accounting firm in Chicago, is seeking a highly skilled SALT (State and Local Tax) Senior Accountant to join their team. As an integral member of the firm's tax department, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and providing expert guidance on state and local tax compliance and planning matters.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review various state and local tax filings, including sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and income tax returns.
• Perform tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with state and local tax laws and regulations.
• Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize liability and optimize state and local tax positions.
• Assist clients with tax audits and other tax controversy matters.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in state and local tax laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and implement tax planning initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or MST (Master of Science in Taxation) certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in state and local tax compliance and planning.
• Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations.
• Experience with tax research tools and software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements.

Salary: $80K/yr to $97K/yr, salary negotiable
